Craft beer is made using a traditional process of blending the sugars from malted grains, with hop flowers and water. The skill of the brewmaster brings out the desired aroma, colour, foam and flavour of the hops and malt. Because of the increased percentage of specialty ingredients, you are going to experience flavours and aromas not found in typical light American style lagers.
Randy Lawerence has worked as a brewmaster for 15 years having brewed for the Propeller Brewery in Halifax, Paddy’s in Kentville – where he created the popular Raven Ale – and Rudders in Yarmouth with its locally famous Town Brown.
Randy has now created Sea Level Brewing, an independent microbrewery attached to the Port Pub. Randy has strived to make his handcrafted beers accessible to all, even those who may hesitate to try speciality beers. He plans to have five regular beers with a monthly specialty beer.
Bottled and capped on site, Sea Level handcrafted “approachable” tasting micro-brewed lagers & ales can now be purchased in 650 mL (quart) bottles, growlers (refillable), and kegs (party & pub sizes: 50L, 30L, & 20L) all onsite at our brewery.
